Jovana Nikolic is a final-year medical student at the University of Nis, Serbia. In 2020, she started combining her background in medicine with a deep passion for writing and launched her career as a freelance medical writer. 

Throughout her studies, Jovana developed a great interest in scientific research. She aspires to challenge her skills and knowledge at a Ph.D. program in Western Europe. Analytical, curious, and detail-oriented, she hopes to contribute to the never-ending neuroscience research. 

An effective science communicator, Jovana has authored and co-authored student research papers presented at national and international biomedical conferences. Since 2022, she is a member of the Rare Disease Advisor team and keeps writing news about the latest scientific findings. She has also written on health and medical topics for a general audience, successfully exploring complex medical concepts in a clear and concise manner. 

Outside of medicine and writing, Jovana is an avid traveler. She takes delight in getting to know distant places and exploring their history and architecture.
